Category 3 facilities are continuously improved through a highly structured quality management and control system that guarantees the entire production process—from the collection and acceptance of animal by-products (ABPs) to the final distribution of the derived products. This system includes strict protocols to ensure that each phase of the process meets the highest quality and health standards, offering reliable and safe products to customers.


Each production batch is carefully classified, identified, and monitored at every stage, from the initial processing phase to the final delivery. Before distribution, every batch undergoes a final general inspection—"Finished Product Release"—ensuring that the products meet all regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.


When it comes to staff training, HACCP training is a top priority. Every year, all personnel involved in operations—from unloading raw materials to shipping the finished products—receive updated training. This training is continually updated with the latest regulatory changes and certification standards such as ISO 9001:2015 and QS Food. This ensures that staff are not only well trained but also fully prepared to manage operations effectively, contributing to the quality and safety of the final products.


Transport of by-products and finished goods is carried out using company-owned vehicles or carefully selected third-party contractors who work exclusively with Salgaim. These transporters offer maximum professionalism, availability, and attention to detail in performing their duties. They are fully aware of the specific operational requirements, including the different loading and unloading procedures at each production site. Their expertise and care are essential for ensuring safe and efficient transportation that preserves product quality.


All these operations, recordings, and archiving practices ensure immediate traceability from raw material to finished product and vice versa.



LABORATORY TESTING

The company has two in-house laboratories dedicated to continuous monitoring of raw materials and finished products. Various samples are subjected to chemical and microbiological tests according to current regulations and quality standards.


Equipped with the most advanced technologies, the laboratories provide rapid results thanks to the use of state-of-the-art NIRS and PCR systems.

Additionally, traditional chemical instruments allow for value control and calibration using NGD or ISO-compliant chemical analysis methods.

In the Quality Management System (QMS), all production and chemical/microbiological quality control data are duly recorded and archived.

At regular intervals, production batches are sent to accredited external laboratories for testing of PCBs, dioxins, detergent residues in finished products, polyethylene in fats, etc., in accordance with quality/sustainability certification requirements and customer requests.
