SALGAIM ECOLOGIC S.P.A.
SINCE 1960 RECOVERY OF SLAUGHTERHOUSE WASTE
THE HISTORY OF SALGAIM
ONE OF THE FIRST ITALIAN COMPANIES IN THE RECOVERY OF ANIMAL WASTE
Salgaim Ecologic, present since the late 1960s, is considered one of the first Italian companies dedicated to the treatment and recovery of slaughterhouse waste and its transformation into raw materials for soap manufacturers, oleochemical industries, with the production of biofuels and bioliquids, feed for livestock and pets, and BIO fertilisers.
1990 marked a turning point—the year in which the new ownership changed the company’s name to the current one and renewed its operations and facilities. The Campagna Lupia plant became one of the first in Europe to introduce a thermal destruction process, effectively resolving the treatment of process water and odorous emissions.
In the early 2000s, a second plant for the treatment of Category 1 ABPs was added in Morsano al Tagliamento (PN), followed by a third plant in Tezze sul Brenta (VI), dedicated to Category 3 poultry-origin ABPs, officially classified by the Ministry of Health as a "Ruminant Free" plant.

In addition to helping reduce environmental pollution through its operations, the company shows strong attention and sensitivity to environmental protection.
Indeed, the various production sites have been equipped with technologically advanced systems for the thermal treatment of process water and the recovery of heat reused in the production cycle.
